This blog will delve into the tokenomics of Pike’s governance token - P.
It will outline the token allocation to different categories, the initial distribution, as well as the token release schedule.
Pike is pushing the boundaries of natively multichain dApps by enabling users to lend and borrow assets across chains - without the use of asset bridges and wrapped assets. It is currently live on Mainnet on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism and Base, with more chains and ecosystems on the way.
Token Distribution and Release Schedule
- Ticker: P
- Maximum Supply: 2,140,000,000
- Initial circulating supply: 411,950,000
- Token Format: Native ERC20 and SPL (using Wormhole’s Native Token Transfer framework)
- Vesting: 80.75% of P are initially locked, which will unlock over the course of 43 months per token release schedule below
P will be distributed across these seven categories:
Token Allocation:
Token Release Schedule:
Note: Presale tokens will be released from the Foundation Treasury allocation.
Note on token release schedules:
- Token release schedule for Liquidity Incentives may change accordingly to reflect market conditions and benchmark rate of return. Change proposals will be communicated in a transparent manner and change decisions will be influenced by Pike community governance.
- Token release schedule for Staking Incentives may change based on the number of staking participants and usage for staked Pike tokens. More information on staking utility will be announced in the following months. Change proposals will be communicated in a transparent manner and change decisions will be influenced by Pike community governance.
- Token release schedule for Community & Launch may change based on the progress of community growth and expansion. Change proposals will be communicated in a transparent manner and change decisions will be influenced by Pike community governance.
- Token release schedule for Community Treasury may change based on the number of community led initiatives. Change proposals will be communicated in a transparent manner and change decisions will be influenced by Pike community governance.
Strategic Stakeholders:
Forward Looking
The ultimate goal of allocating Pike tokens to the respective stakeholder groups is to ensure collaborative and progressive decentralization efforts in scaling the Pike protocol.
Holders of Pike tokens are expected to participate in the decision making on the following topics:
- Blockchain network expansion strategy
- Asset coverage
- Smart contracts upgrade and optimization
- Protocol fees settings
- Protocol parameter settings
- Incentive settings
- Community led initiatives
- Token utility and release schedule
About Pike:
Pike is a Universal Liquidity Protocol; it is designed to unleash utility for native assets by aggregating liquidity across blockchain networks.
Pike’s vision is to become a universal liquidity layer that enables frictionless movement and accessibility of native assets across ecosystems. Pike is built on top of Wormhole’s Cross-Chain Data Messaging and Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP), and utilizes Pyth Network’s Price Feeds.
One fundamental primitive of Pike is to enable users to supply native assets on source chains and borrow native assets destination chains without interacting with cross-chain bridges and handling wrapped assets.
